I began my journey working in microbiological research to help combat communities of bacteria known as biofilms. However my interests turned towards communities that you don't need a microscope to observe. Through my studies in the biological sciences, I’ve learned that the laboratory is not for me: it’s for everyone. For that reason, I am leaving the lab bench to highlight the stories and accomplishments of the scientists in our communities. I will be the bridge between the jargon and the slang, connect the enthusiasts with the scientists, and begin a conversation between the learned and the layman.
